Resident Evil Revelations (3DS)

Being trapped on a boat with mutants that want to kill you is not something I would ever want to have happen to me.  Luckily, I am not a member of the BSAA and I don't have to worry about these things.  Sure it would be fun if I was trained and stuff but I am not.

This game starts out simple, you are trying to stop evil virus mutants and you only have guns and wits at your disposal.  I have played some of the past Resident Evil games, but this one is the best so far.  Sure the controls are a little funky on the 3DS but you easily get used to it.

The story is great and definitely much better than Resident Evil 5.  In fact, this should have been Resident Evil 5.  This was a much better game than that.  If you have a 3DS, pick this up.  There is a lot to do, the action is intense and varied, and it is a solid title.  I'm sure the recent re-release on consoles is better but I will always like this one better.

Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (N64)

Dinosaurs should be terrifying to fight.  Or at least they would be if I didn't have modern weapons at my disposal in this game.  One you get past the traps and the fairly persistent AI, you get to see just how truly difficult a game can be.  This game has some very punishing jumps and it is often not clear where to go.

I remember playing a lot of this game and I remember finishing it but I don't remember how much I enjoyed it.  If I can't remember that, I must not have enjoyed it very much.  Still, it was a good game for the N64 and I'm sure I enjoyed parts of it.
